Exemption from payment of medical costs

To those who are victims of the torrential rains of July 2018

When those who are victims of the torrential rains of July 2018 receive medical examinations and treatment at a medical facility (including medical facilities outside Hiroshima Prefecture), by declaring that they fall into one or more of the categories listed below, they can receive an exemption from payment of the part of the medical costs normally paid by the individual, or postponement of payment of these costs.

  1. The applicant’s residence has been fully or partially destroyed or fully or partially burnt, or has suffered flooding above the floor level or damage equivalent to this, as a result of the rains of July 2018;
  2. The main breadwinner of the applicant’s household has died or suffered serious injury as a result of the rains of July 2018;
  3. The main breadwinner of the applicant’s household is missing as a result of the rains of July 2018;
  4. The main breadwinner of the applicant’s household has ceased or suspended operations of his/her company/business as a result of the rains of July 2018;
  5. The main breadwinner of the applicant’s household has lost his/her job as a result of the rains of July 2018, and currently has no income.
