Health Insurance Certificates will be abolished from December 2nd（12月2日に健康保険証が廃止されます）
With the integration of the My Number Card and the Health Insurance Certificate, from December 2nd, 2024, card-based Health Insurance Certificates will no longer be issued.
Please do not discard your Health Insurance Certificate, though, as you can use it until its expiration date. After Health Insurance Certificates are abolished, you will be issued with an ‘Eligibility Confirmation Certificate’ or a ‘Notice of Eligibility Information’ to replace the previous Health Insurance Certificate.
Those with My Number Health Insurance Certificates（マイナ保険証を持っている人
People who have a My Number Card (a My Number Health Insurance Certificate) and have registered it as their Health Insurance Certificate will be issued a ‘Notice of Eligibility Information’ so that their eligibility information can be easily checked.
In principle, you will use your My Number Health Insurance Certificate to receive treatment, but if your My Number Health Insurance Certificate cannot be read, please present this ‘Notice of Eligibility Information’ as well.

Those who do not have a My Number Card, or who have a My Number Card but have not registered it as their Health Insurance Certificate, will be issued a ‘Notice of Eligibility Information’. Please present this at the counter of the medical institution, just like the previous Health Insurance Certificate.

Registering a My Number Card for use as a Health Insurance Certificate（マイナンバーカードの保険証利用登録）
Those with a My Number Card can log in to the Myna Portal from their smartphones and register their Health Insurance Certificate. Registration is also possible using face recognition card readers at medical institutions and pharmacies. If you have any difficulty registering, assistance can be provided at the City Office, or at a branch office or sub-branch office of the City Office.
The four-digit password you registered at the time of application will be required.
