Rental Housing(賃貸住宅)

Rental housing refers to a house or apartment that you rent by paying rent to live in. When looking for a house or apartment, go to a local real estate agency. If you don't speak much Japanese, go to a real estate agency with someone who does. You can also search for rooms on the Internet using real estate information sites.

When renting a house or apartment, you will enter into a rental contract. A rental contract is an agreement that clearly defines the rights and obligations between the landlord and the renter. Signing a contract (writing your name to show that you agree) means that you agree to what is written in it and will abide by it. Read the contents carefully and have them explained to you. It is important to understand what is written there before signing.

When signing a contract, you will have to pay rent, common area fees, security deposit, key money, and fees.
