Accommodation（住宅）
If you rent accommodation in Japan, when signing the contract you will need a guarantor who is not a member of your family.
In many cases, contracts are renewed every two years. If you want to end the contract, you must do so before the date (or the period) specified in the rental contract. If you do not let the landlord know sufficiently in advance that you wish to end the contract, in many cases your security deposit will not be returned.
Rental contacts are very detailed and stipulate many conditions, so when renting accommodation, wherever possible you should take someone who understands Japanese with you.
Necessary Expenses（必要な費用）
When you rent accommodation, as well as the rent（家賃）, you may also need to pay common service fees（共益費） on a regular basis. In addition, when you sign the contract, you may need to pay a security deposit（敷金）, key money（礼金）, the handling fees for the contract（手数料）, etc.
Public Housing（公営住宅）
If you fulfill certain conditions relating to income limits, etc., you may be able to move into public housing.
Applications for entrance into public housing are accepted four times a year (February, May, August and November) for municipal (city-managed) housing, and three times a year (February, June and October) for prefectural housing.

Sunsquare Higashihiroshima（サンスクエア東広島）
Sunsquare Higashihiroshima is accommodation for foreign students, with 90 rooms for single occupancy, and 20 rooms for family occupancy.
Applications from those wishing to live in Sunsquare Higashihiroshima are accepted twice a year, in February and August.
Please apply at the office of your university that deals with foreign students.
