The proper way to dispose of handheld fans(ハンディファンの正しい捨て方)

If you are using designated household waste bags (orange or purple):

[If the batteries can be removed]

1. Removed batteries are considered ‘hazardous waste’.

Place them in a designated orange waste bag on ‘hazardous waste’ collection day.
When disposing of batteries, wrap the metal parts in plastic tape or something similar to insulate them before disposal.

2. After removing the battery, dispose of the handheld fan body as ‘non-burnable oversized waste’.

【If the battery cannot be removed】

Do not attempt to disassemble the device. Instead, dispose of the entire handheld fan as ‘hazardous waste’ or ‘non-burnable oversized waste’. Please use a separate bag from other waste to prevent fires during collection and disposal.

If you are using designated business waste bags (red or blue):

If you live in an apartment or condominium, please check with your apartment management company for disposal instructions.

You can also dispose of batteries（乾電池） in the collection boxes located on the first floor of the City Hall Main Building and at each branch and sub-branch office.
