Disabled Persons’ Handbooks（障害者手帳）

Those with physical disabilities are issued with a Disabled Person’s Handbook, those with intellectual impairments are issued with a Handbook for the Intellectually Handicapped, and those with mental disorders are issued with a Mentally Disabled Person’s Health and Welfare Handbook.
Those who have been issued with one of these handbooks may be able to receive subsidies for medical expenses, various allowances and welfare services, reductions to or exemptions from vehicle tax, etc.
