Subsidies for the RSV Vaccine for Pregnant Women(妊婦RSワクチン助成)
What Is the RSV Infection?(RSウイルス感染症とは)
RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) infection is an acute respiratory infection caused by the RSV virus and is common among infants and young children. It is said that the first infection tends to be more severe. In particular, if infection occurs within the first six months after birth, it may become serious and lead to conditions such as bronchiolitis or pneumonia.
By receiving the vaccine during pregnancy, antibodies produced in the mother’s body are passed on to the baby, helping to prevent the onset or severe progression of RSV infection.
