1 Overview(概要)

Higashihiroshima City provides a public wireless LAN service called ’Higashihiroshima Free Wi-Fi’ at public facilities throughout the city.
Posters are displayed at Wi-Fi locations, so please feel free to use the service.
The service is free of charge.

2 How to Use(利用方法)

There are three ways to connect.
Please choose the method that suits you best.

Method 1: Connection via E-mail

First-time Users


  1. From your Wi-Fi settings, select ’HGH Free Wi-Fi (E-mail)’.
    You will be temporarily connected to the internet for 10 minutes. Please complete the following steps during this time.
  2. The Wi-Fi usage screen will appear.
  3. Select ’Account Registration(アカウント申請)’ at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Enter your Name(名前), E-mail(Eメール), E-mail (Confirmation)(Eメール(再入力)), Password(パスワード), and Password (Confirmation)(パスワード(再入力)), then select ’New Account Registration(新規アカウント申請).’
  5. A confirmation message will be sent to the e-mail address you entered.
  6. Select the URL in the e-mail message.

This completes the registration process.
If your internet connection is disconnected, please follow the steps below for returning users.

Returning Users

  1. From your Wi-Fi settings, select ’HGH Free Wi-Fi (E-mail)’.
  2. Enter your registered E-mail(Eメール) and Password(パスワード), and check ’Agree to the Terms of Use(利用規約に同意).’
  3. Select ’Log In(ログイン)’ at the bottom of the screen.

This completes the connection process.

Method 2: Connection via eduroam (For University Students)

eduroam is a secure Wi-Fi service that allows university students to connect using their own university credentials (ID and password).

This method is intended for users affiliated with universities or research institutions.

  1. From your Wi-Fi settings, select ’eduroam.’
  2. Enter your university ID and password.

This completes the connection process.

Method 3: Connection via Open Roaming

Higashihiroshima Free Wi-Fi uses a technology called Open Roaming.

Open Roaming is an international roaming platform. Once users complete the initial setup, their devices will automatically connect to Wi-Fi whenever they are near a supported Wi-Fi spot.

Step 1: Register for the Citizen Portal Site (Only for users who are not yet registered)

※ If you are already registered on the Citizen Portal Site, this step is not required.
To enable automatic Wi-Fi connection, registration on the Citizen Portal Site is required. Please register using the link below.

Step 2: Access the Profile Download Page

(For users already registered on the Citizen Portal Site)

  1. Access the profile download page using the link below:

  2. Log in to the Citizen Portal Site.

Step 3: Download the Profile

The following steps are quoted from instructions published by NTT Broadband Platform, Inc.

  1. Select ’Register Here(登録はこちら)’.
  2. Review the Terms of Use and select ’Agree and Proceed with Registration(同意して登録に進む)’.
  3. Choose a login method (Google or Apple).
  4. Complete identity verification (example shown uses Google).
  5. Download the profile.
  6. Select ’Install(インストール).’
  7. Select ’OK.’
Additional steps for iPhone users only:

  1. Select ’Settings.’
  2. Select ‘Downloaded Profile’ → ’Install’ → Enter your password → Select ’Install’.

After this setup, your device will automatically connect when Higashihiroshima Free Wi-Fi is detected.

You can check locations where Higashihiroshima Free Wi-Fi is available on the map via ‘Higashihiroshima Map’.
