東広島市立御薗宇小学校は東広島市立西条小学校の急激な児童数増加の過密解消として,昭和56年(1981年)4月に分離新設されました。市政誕生以来3校目になり,市内で19番目の小学校です。西条町御薗宇の最も南に位置し「フジ」の名所として関西に名を知られた,呉市水道局三永水源地近くの松林を 開き建設されました。

学校の近くには西条中央テクノポリスがあり,その中に,テクノプラザ,中国電力技術研究所,広島国際センターなどが建設されています。広島県の科学技術の中心地域となりつつあるところです。校区の中心には黒瀬川が流れ,整備された田園に囲まれた緑豊かな地域にあります。魚や野鳥を見ることも多く自然環境に恵まれています。

interest, including, Azumako Kan-non

Shrine that has over 800 years of

history, Azumako-no-taki, or Azumako

waterfall, and the wisteria garden park

of the Minaga Reservoir. With

cultural and scientific facilities lacated

nearby, the school has an excellent

learning environment for international

understanding with opportunities to

experience direct concert with students

from overseas.
